Os trilhos da SPR impulsionaram a economia cafeeira e o progresso do Estado de S\u00e3o Paulo, entre o final do s\u00e9culo 19 e a metade do s\u00e9culo 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:24px\"> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-ast-global-color-5-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:24px\">O Bar\u00e3o de Mau\u00e1, t\u00edtulo mais conhecido do comerciante, armador, industrial e banqueiro Irineu Evangelista de Souza, foi o autor da fa\u00e7anha de vencer a imponente Serra do Mar para implantar a liga\u00e7\u00e3o ferrovi\u00e1ria entre o Porto de Santos e o interior do Estado.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:40%\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-ast-global-color-5-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:40px\"><strong>EFSJ: A Ferrovia que Transportou o Progresso<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-5-color has-ast-global-color-4-background-color has-text-color has-background\" style=\"font-size:24px\">Depois de convencer o governo imperial sobre a import\u00e2ncia da constru\u00e7\u00e3o de uma estrada de ferro entre a S\u00e3o Paulo e o Porto de Santos, em 1859, Mau\u00e1 contratou o engenheiro ferrovi\u00e1rio brit\u00e2nico James Brunlees, um dos maiores especialistas do setor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\t\t\t<a id=\"ub-expand-toggle-partial-bccdac38-17cf-4692-a685-e8ba321d2b02\" class=\"ub-expand-toggle-button\" style=\"text-align: center; \" role=\"button\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"ub-expand-full-bccdac38-17cf-4692-a685-e8ba321d2b02\" tabindex=\"0\">\n\t\t\t\tLeia Mais\n\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ub-expand-portion ub-expand-full ub-hide wp-block-ub-expand-portion\" id=\"ub-expand-full-bccdac38-17cf-4692-a685-e8ba321d2b02\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignfull has-ast-global-color-6-background-color has-background is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:15%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-medium\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"180\" src=\"https:\/\/aeefsj.org.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/vagaohistoria-300x180.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aeefsj.org.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/vagaohistoria-300x180.png 300w, https:\/\/aeefsj.org.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/vagaohistoria-768x461.png 768w, https:\/\/aeefsj.org.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/vagaohistoria.png 1025w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:81%\">\n<p>Para vencer a empreitada, Brunless trouxe outros engenheiros experientes no assunto, como Daniel Makinson Fox, que havia implantado ferrovias em montanhas do norte do Pa\u00eds de Gales e das encostas dos Pireneus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>O experiente, Daniel Fox tra\u00e7ou a rota pela serra, dividindo o trajeto em 4 declives, com uma inclina\u00e7\u00e3o de 8% em cada um deles, o que permitiria puxar os vag\u00f5es com cabos de a\u00e7o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>No final de cada declive, foi constru\u00edda uma extens\u00e3o de linha de 75 metros de comprimento, com uma inclina\u00e7\u00e3o de 1,3%. Em cada um desses patamares foi montada uma casa de for\u00e7a e uma m\u00e1quina a vapor para prover a tra\u00e7\u00e3o dos cabos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Brunless aprovou o projeto que deu origem a nova empresa que construiu a Funicular de Paranapiacaba: \u201c<em>S\u00e3o Paulo Railway Company<\/em>\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Criada no alto da serra, Paranapiacaba serviu de acampamento para os oper\u00e1rios e de ponto de troca de sistema pelos trens, j\u00e1 que nem todas as composi\u00e7\u00f5es tinham as caracter\u00edsticas para operar no trecho de serra.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns are-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignfull are-vertically-aligned-center has-ast-global-color-6-background-color has-background is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center has-ast-global-color-6-background-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:80%\">\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-1-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:24px\">A obra desafiadora teve a seu favor o know-how dos engenheiros estrangeiros que conseguiram a fa\u00e7anha de conclu\u00ed-la 10 meses antes do prazo de oito anos, previsto no contrato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-1-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:24px\">Em 1895 foi iniciada a implanta\u00e7\u00e3o de um novo trecho para transpor a serra, diante do imenso volume de caf\u00e9 transportado para o Porto de Santos.\u00a0 A \u201cSerra Nova\u201d como passou a ser chamada a obra erguida em paralelo a \u201cSerra Velha\u201d, por onde operava o sistema funicular, passou a dominar o transporte de caf\u00e9. A Serra Velha caiu em desuso e nos anos 1960 suas opera\u00e7\u00f5es foram encerradas.<br>Com o fim do monop\u00f3lio brit\u00e2nico sobre a rota do porto em 1935,\u00a0 a Estrada de Ferro Sorocabana construiu uma linha pr\u00f3pria entre Mairinque e Santos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-1-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:24px\">Em 13 de setembro de 1946, chegou ao fim a concess\u00e3o dada aos ingleses para explorar a rota. Entre 1970 e 1974, a Rede Ferrovi\u00e1ria Federal construiu o sistema cremalheira, que \u00e9 usado at\u00e9 hoje.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignfull are-vertically-aligned-center has-ast-global-color-6-background-color has-background is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:15%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignfull size-full is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"246\" height=\"206\" src=\"https:\/\/aeefsj.org.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/historiacbtu2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11185\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-ast-global-color-1-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\">A ferrovia Santos a Jundia\u00ed\u00a0 transportou cerca de 4 milh\u00f5es de imigrantes, vindos especialmente da Europa,\u00a0 entre o final do s\u00e9culo XIX e in\u00edcio do s\u00e9culo XX.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:90%\">\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-1-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:24px\">A Companhia Brasileira de Trens Urbanos (CBTU) passou a operar os trens metropolitanos, em 1984. O objetivo era modernizar, expandir e implantar o sistema de transporte de passageiros sobre trilhos, algo at\u00e9 ent\u00e3o visto como segundo foco, j\u00e1 que a carga era prioridade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-1-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:24px\">Em mais de um s\u00e9culo, os passageiros puderam se deslocar de S\u00e3o Paulo a Santos, utilizando os trilhos da Serra do Mar at\u00e9 que, em 30 de novembro de 1995, foi realizada a \u00faltima viagem para a Baixada Santista.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-1-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:24px\">Em 1\u00ba de dezembro de 1996, seguindo o programa de desestatiza\u00e7\u00e3o proposto pelo Governo Federal, a antiga malha da Santos a Jundia\u00ed foi entregue sob regime de concess\u00e3o \u00e0 MRS Log\u00edstica para a opera\u00e7\u00e3o de cargas. A concession\u00e1ria tem hoje o dom\u00ednio da ferrovia entre Santos e Rio Grande da Serra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>O trecho entre Rio Grande da Serra e Jundia\u00ed ficou a cargo da CPTM, que dividiu o trajeto em duas linhas: a antiga Linha A (atual 7-Rubi) ligando Jundia\u00ed a Luz e a antiga Linha D (atual 10-Turquesa), operando entre Luz e Paranapiacaba. A MRS obteve permiss\u00e3o para operar e compartilhar o trecho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:24px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Em novembro de 2001, em raz\u00e3o da baixa demanda de passageiros, a CPTM encerrou a opera\u00e7\u00e3o em Paranapiacaba e os trens passaram a ter como esta\u00e7\u00e3o terminal Rio Grande da Serra.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignfull has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 15%\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"506\" height=\"644\" src=\"https:\/\/aeefsj.org.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/historia1100.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11186 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aeefsj.org.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/historia1100.png 506w, https:\/\/aeefsj.org.br\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/historia1100-236x300.png 236w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 506px) 100vw, 506px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-5-color has-ast-global-color-4-background-color has-text-color has-background\">A Santos Jundia\u00ed teve um papel importante no desenvolvimento do Estado de S\u00e3o Paulo e do Brasil. No s\u00e9culo 19, o caf\u00e9 era a moeda da vez do Pa\u00eds. Cultivado em fazendas no interior do Estado, o escoamento dessa produ\u00e7\u00e3o at\u00e9 o Porto de Santos para exporta\u00e7\u00e3o era arcaico. As sacas de caf\u00e9 eram transportadas em lombos de animais, com perda de parte da carga ao longo do caminho, que poderia levar mais de 30 dias para ser percorrido.<br>A economia cafeeira foi o fator que desencadeou o desenvolvimento acelerado da capital paulista, cuja riqueza foi impulsionada pelos trilhos.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\t\t\t<a id=\"ub-expand-toggle-full-bccdac38-17cf-4692-a685-e8ba321d2b02\" class=\"ub-expand-toggle-button\" style=\"text-align: center;
